Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using GetEduMail.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the GetEduMail website and services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

GetEduMail provides a free .edu-style email service that allows you to create temporary education-style email addresses. You may use these addresses to receive emails, including for verifying accounts with third-party student programs (e.g. GitHub Student, Spotify, Adobe). You may use the Service with or without creating an account. You are responsible for using the Service, including any .edu-style email addresses, in compliance with the terms, policies, and eligibility requirements of any third-party programs or services you access (e.g. student offers). We do not guarantee that any .edu-style email address created through the Service will qualify you for any third-party benefit, discount, or account, and we are not responsible for how you choose to use such addresses or for any decisions or actions taken by third parties in connection with your use (including suspension, denial of access, account actions, or other consequences). We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part of it at any time, with or without notice.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account or using the Service. We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
  • Send spam, phishing, malware, or other harmful or fraudulent content
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Abuse, harass, or harm others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other accounts, or any third-party services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the infrastructure that supports it
  • Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal or that we reasonably consider objectionable

We may remove content, suspend access, or terminate accounts that we determine violate these Terms. We are not obligated to monitor use of the Service but may do so to enforce these Terms and protect users. You are solely responsible for your conduct and for any consequences arising from your use of the Service, including any use of a .edu-style email address with third-party services or programs.

5. Your Content and Data

You retain ownership of the content you submit through the Service (e.g. contact form messages). By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to use, process, and store it as necessary to provide the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit such content. Emails received at your .edu address are processed and stored to deliver the inbox feature; we do not claim ownership of the content of those emails.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software (excluding content you provide), is owned by GetEduMail or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our Service or any part of it without our prior written consent. "GetEduMail" and related marks are our trademarks.

7. Third-Party Services and Advertising

The Service may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites or services (e.g. student program sign-up pages). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their respective terms and policies. We may use third-party advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) on some pages to support the Service. Such advertising is subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Ads are not placed on pages where private communication (e.g. inbox or email view) is the primary focus.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GetEduMail AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR, IF YOU PAID NOTHING, ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100)). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GetEduMail and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, or delete your account and data, at any time for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.

12. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may change the Service or these Terms at any time. We will post revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes to the Terms, we may provide additional notice (e.g. by email or a notice on the site). Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

13. General

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and GetEduMail regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not waive that right or provision. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them without restriction. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
