Spotify Student Discount: How to Verify and Save 50% for Up to 4 Years

Spotify’s Premium Student plan gives you ad-free music at a discount and bundles Hulu (With Ads) and Showtime at no extra cost. You can keep the discount for up to four years as long as you re-verify every 12 months. Here’s how eligibility and verification work.

What you get

Premium Student is offered at a reduced monthly rate (about half of regular Premium). It includes Spotify Premium (offline listening, no ads, better quality) plus Hulu’s ad-supported plan and Showtime. You must renew and re-verify your student status every 12 months; Spotify allows a limited number of re-verifications after that.

Eligibility

You must be a student at an accredited college or university. Your school must be in Spotify’s verification partner’s (SheerID) database. Note: You do not have to use your student email as your Spotify login email—verification is separate.

How to claim

• Go to spotify.com/student or the Premium Student sign-up page.
• Complete the SheerID verification form (you’ll need to log into your school portal or upload proof of enrollment).
• Wait for SheerID to confirm (email usually within a few days).
• Use the confirmation email to activate the discount on a new or existing Spotify account.

Payment must be with an eligible method (e.g. card); you cannot pay via mobile carrier billing or another company’s bill. If you’re already on Premium, you can switch to Student once verified.
